Assassin's Creed III is a 2012 action-adventure video game. It is the fifth major installment in the Assassin's Creed series, and a direct sequel to 2011's Assassin's Creed: Revelations. Set in a fictionalized history, the game depicts the eternal struggle between the freedom-defending Assassins and the controlling Templars. In the 21st century, Desmond Miles uses the Animus to revisit ancestor memories and avert a 2012 apocalypse. The 18th-century plot follows Templar Haytham Kenway and his Assassin son, Connor, in Colonial America.
