Minicraft+ was originally created as Minicraft by Markus "Notch" Persson (the creator of Minecraft) on December 19th, 2011 during the 22nd Ludum Dare competition. Notch released the source code under Ludum Dare's rules, but under no license, and moved on to other projects. Many mods came out for the game, and eventually Minicraft+ on PlayMinicraft was born in order to keep the small community alive. The game and source code can be tweaked by you on playminicraft.com.
